Meet Adrian, our new Senior Engineer

By Darren Lewis | 7-10-24

Introducing Adrian, our new Senior Engineer. He’s passionate about solar power, fast cars and sharks and loves the idea of teleportation.

Adrian joins us bringing a strong background in electrical engineering with a specialised focus on solar energy solutions. With extensive experience leading renewable energy initiatives across Europe, Adrian is committed to advancing sustainable energy infrastructures in the region.

In his previous role as an Area Manager, Adrian took on key responsibilities, including NICEIC oversight and 33kV SAP duties, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of high-voltage systems. This experience sharpened his skills in electrical testing, fibre optics, and troubleshooting, preparing him to tackle complex technical challenges and drive project success with us.

We are delighted to have Adrian on board and look forward to the expertise and dedication he will bring to Solar Group Utilities as we continue to deliver efficient, environmentally responsible energy solutions. Let's get to know Adrian a little better.

1.     What’s something unique about you that most people don’t know?

Most people know my name, but as far as any research can suggest, I am the only person in the world with my name spelt exactly the way it is.

2.     If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I think being able to teleport to any location with a simple snap of the fingers would be incredible. Just imagine—one minute you're wrapping up your day on a solar farm, and the next, you're enjoying a cold beer and lobster at a beach restaurant under the sun. Now, that would be some superpower.

3.     What attracted you to this role?

First and foremost, I have a real passion for solar power. The systems and setup at SGU are incredibly impressive, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact as the company grows is something I'm really excited about.

4.     What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Break down a big problem into smaller, manageable pieces and solve each one individually. Once all the small problems are solved, the big problem is too.

5.     If you could have dinner with any famous person, who would it be and why?

I was a huge fan of Paul Walker in the Fast and Furious films, but he was also a marine biologist with a passion for sharks. I, too, have a deep love for fast cars and sharks, so I think we’d have a lot to talk about.

6.     Any productivity hacks you swear by?

Eat the Frog! Always tackle the most difficult tasks first. That way, the rest of the day, week, or year can only get easier.
